June has been a celebratory month. And what better fits such occassions as a new dress? Big mad love to Karyn Haag, designer and seamstress, for creating this gorgeous cupcake dress in honour of my birthday. It was a big hit at last night's 90s-prom style book launch of She's Shameless.

She had a dream, she passed it on

Melissa Auf Der Maur is one of a kind. The once-bassist for Hole and later brief member of the Smashing Pumpkins, is a creative force within herself.

As a Montrealer, Melissa and I first met years ago on the streets of Toronto. I stayed up all night with friends on Yonge Street in order to shake her hand. Since then our paths have crossed via journalism and photography. Last night's showcase at NXNE rekindled the flame.

If you lived here you'd be home now

Every time I visit the Beaches in Toronto I am awestruck. The architecture, ambience and location makes the megacity seem plausible to withstand. My cousin Jordan know calls this gorgeous location home. Toto, we're not in Toronto anymore.

All I could imagine is the sort of outdoor dinner parties I could throw and short stories I could write if I lived there.
